# Java crash on gateway startup

hey, localhost: 8088 isnt working.i get this in the wrap log.

Failed to parse the version of Java. Resolving to the lowest supported version (1.4).

just update java or?

What version of Ignition are you using?

If it’s 7.9 or prior then the problem is that you have Java 11 installed and you need to have Java 8 or 9 instead.
