The MSSQL JDBC driver module, new in 8.3, currently bundles the `13.2.1.jre11` driver from Microsoft.
Microsoft hedges their own bets on compatibility with their driver by leaning on "supported":

> **[SQL version compatibility - Support matrix - JDBC Driver for SQL Server](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/connect/jdbc/microsoft-jdbc-driver-for-sql-server-support-matrix?view=sql-server-ver17#sql-version-compatibility)**
>
> Download JDBC driver | This page contains the support matrix and support life-cycle policy for the Microsoft JDBC Driver for SQL Server.

But you can always up or downgrade the JDBC driver Ignition is using for MSSQL connections if it becomes an issue in practice.
