# Licence and DNS

Hello Friends,

Our client, with ignition 7.2 want to change the DNS name of the ignition host. Do it affect to the licence this process?

I know it’s easiest to unlicence and licence again, but we want to avoid this step.

This shouldn’t have any affect on your license unless you also move Ignition to new hardware or something.

What happens if we move the ignition to new hardware, what all things that we need to check while doing that?? can you please tell me the things that I should care about while changing the hardware?

If you move to new hardware you should un-activate first, then re-activate on the new hardware.
