Hello, I am totally new to SQL, I used a SQL server express for my project without knowing that I had a limitation of 10 Gb of storage. What license should I have to be able to connect SQL server to ignition? it is only a single workstation.

I don't know much about sql server other than the complaints that I've seen on this forum, but I would switch to postgres or mariadb if at all possible.

You'll need at least SQL Standard edition with either the appropriate count of client licenses (either device CALs or user CALs based on the number of devices or users accessing data on the SQL server), or you can buy unlimited clients, but you pay per core/CPU of the server, but this is very expensive.
