I was reading about the implementation of OPC-UA at the CERN (where they are searching new components of energy and matter by accelerating particles and slamming them together in head-on collisions.) [https://accelconf.web.cern.ch/accelconf/icalepcs2011/papers/mopms025.pdf](https://accelconf.web.cern.ch/accelconf/icalepcs2011/papers/mopms025.pdf)

The author claimed…in 2011… that the Java implementation of OPC-UA supported neither HTTP method of message transmission, nor XML/SOAP method of message encoding, which was ultimately one of the OPC-UA selection considerations to the downside.

Given that 4 years is a veritable eternity in technology time, can anyone pontificate ![:prayer:](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/inductiveautomation/original/1X/e5a7e3b63facc151ea73e3b45db7bdb3d4bdc316.gif ":prayer:") on the availability of HTTP msg transmission and XML/SOAP encoding in 7.8?

Thanks!!

Dan
