# Modifying Users Roles Not Saving

Hi

Since upgrading to 7.7.1 from 7.6.6 I am not able to modify user roles from the user/roles screen and can only modify from web interface. I get the message below when I try to save a role change when using the screen even though I am logged in as an administrator

Gateway \> Configure \> Configuration \> Gateway Settings \> Allow User Admin

This lets you change user and role information from the Designer. It’s off by default, as part of the beefed up security in 7.7.
