Hi everyone,

Following our migration from Ignition 8.1 to 8.3, I'm facing a recurring issue after every version upgrade.

Due to company security policy, our MSSQL database connections use Windows Authentication via the parameter: `integratedSecurity=true`

The problem occurs with every release upgrade (including the latest update from **8.3.8** to **8.3.9** ): the file `mssql-jdbc_auth-9.4.0.x64.dll` gets automatically removed from the system.

To restore connection functionality, I currently have to perform these steps manually every time:

1. Copy the DLL file to: `C:\Program Files\Inductive Automation\Ignition\lib\core\gateway`

2. Restart the Ignition service.

Am I missing something in the configuration, or is there a proper way to make this library persistent so it doesn't get overwritten or deleted during upgrades?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Have you tried putting the DLL somewhere else and adding it to the PATH environment variable?

Try the `lib` folder instead of `lib/core/gateway`; I think this is also part of `java.library.path` but not wiped out on upgrade.

To be honest, except for the first time—when I went a bit crazy trying to figure out how to get the DB connections back up—I already knew what to do the other times. As soon as the installation finished, I would just paste them back in (master and backup), so I didn't perform any other tests.

However, I really wanted to find a definitive way to skip this step altogether.

Following your advice, I tested moving the file from `lib/core/gateway` to `lib`; I restarted the Ignition service, and the connections stayed active.

Thanks for the support!
