I’m setting up new OPC Device Connections for Allen-Bradley PLCs which are being updated to v32 firmware. This requires using the new Allen-Bradley Logix driver, and it has a CIP Connection Size parameter which the Legacy ControlLogix driver did not include (or maybe defaulted to something without the option to change it).

The default value is 500, and not being familiar with this protocol, I’m not sure if I need to change it. Has anyone made a similar upgrade and needed to tweak this setting?

On modern Logix, you can set it to 4000 for a nice bump in throughput. As long as all AB components in the connection path support it. It’ll be pretty obvious if there’s a weak link.
