# Online editing of trend views (vision)

Hi there,

I want to have historical trending screens that operators can edit all the things in it and have it remember the changes Change pens, change the view, change time base etc etc, (like you can in for example WinCC). I saw Easy Chart but that i cannot change it online.

How would you do this?

You certainly **can** change an EasyChart at runtime. You generally need to script changes to its various configuration datasets. (Axes, Pens, DB Pens, etc.) The simplest scripts query a database for the pens a user wants in a particular situation and write the dataset to the chart’s `tagPens` or `pens` properties. Other changes can be scripted on mouse menus or other triggers. And a button can be made to save back to the database.
