# Pathway through google email is no longer working

noticed my alarms were not sending though my pathway. did some research and found as of may 2022 google has added 2 step verification and removed the less secure apps option. has anyone found a way to make this till work or have you changed to a another email service. im currently running verison 8.0.17 should i update? is there a fix for this in the update ignition?

For now you need to use the less secure application / application-specific password workaround.

Steady progress is being made on adding support for OAuth 2.0 clients to Ignition, as well as a new Email Profile that can use a configured Auth 2.0 client.
