# Perspective alarm shelving

Hi

Is there a function to temporarily hide or mute the alarm for a predefined period of time when the alarm occurs?

On the alarm status table component, you can select an alarm and shelve that for a period of time

Place an alarm status table item onto one of your pages ([Perspective - Alarm Status Table - Ignition User Manual 8.1 - Ignition Documentation](https://docs.inductiveautomation.com/display/DOC81/Perspective+-+Alarm+Status+Table))

When you run this view in a client you can select an alarm and that will then show a button saying 'shelve'. Click this.
