# Perspective dock animation speed

Using Ignition 8.1.0

Is there anyway to change the dock animation speed?

You can only do this within custom themes. If you have custom themes in place, you can modify the transition speed of Docked Views with the following code:

```auto
.client-root {
    .center {
        transition: max-width 0.3s ease-in-out, max-height 0.3s ease-in-out;
    }
}

```

Changing the `max-width` and `max-height` values will change the transition speed.

You might want to do something like this ( **untested** ):

```auto
.client-root {
    .center {
        transition: max-width var(--transition-speed) ease-in-out, max-height var(--transition-speed) ease-in-out;
    }
}

:root {
    --transition-speed: 0.3s;
}

```

This might be a good thing to pull into the designer for future versions.
