# Perspective session says "user" (me) is still editing resources even though I have saved, updated, and closed the project. Is there something I am missing?

My project claims that I am still editing resources on every portion that I have created. I have saved, updated, and closed the project multiple times and no one else has my login information, so am I missing something so I can get rid of this? The only thought I have is that I have distributed the project URL for use to my Maintenace department, so can this give the illusion of my login editing the project?

Longstanding bug. IIRC, the only sure way to get rid of the "ghost" is to restart your gateway.

I forget the exact order but you can save your changes and then right click on the screen and "revert changes" to get rid of the dirty status.

I forget the exact workflow for that but I believe it was "revert changes" that got rid of the editing indicator.

We're now experiencing this same issue.
Performed several gateway reboots (Including the redundancy (simultaneously))... No luck.
The Ghost session now seems to be over writing any changes made when saving a specific view. Apparently it has that view locked out.
Same issue occurred a couple weeks ago and lasted over week and then it randomly released on it's own.

You should open a support ticket.

It's incredibly annoying, sometimes my changes stick, sometimes they don't. I can't figure out why

Has anyone found the magic to fix this?
I'll wait a few hours to see if anyone has a fix before I open a support ticket.

**Background** :
This happened when we had a power outage.
My laptop switched to WiFi and I continued working.
I think one editor is the wired connection and the other editor is the WiFi connection.
I've started the designer with both connections, opened the views and reverted changes, restarted the Ignition service and rebooted the server but did not reboot the redundancy server like @bfeas.
I'm still tripping on my own shoelaces...

More info...
I was working on a Master server with both the master and and the redundancy server "Standby Activity Level" set to " **Cold**".
I changed the Standby Activity Level to " **Warm**" on both servers and restarted the Ignition service on the Master.
_ **The ghost user is gone now.** _
The view Custom values and Parameters have stopped randomly disappearing and event scripts are no longer reverting to prior versions.

The ghost is back… Last time it was myself on wireless IP vs. wired IP. This time, both of me are on the same IP address.

IT had a planned network outage over the weekend. I exited the designer and rebooted my workstation. Monday morning, I am now competing with two of myself with the same IP address.

I’ve re-opened the support ticket and per instructions, – waiting for opportunity to reboot the server.

If you are having this issue, vote for idea:
[Add the ability to release resources being edited by absent users | Voters | Inductive Automation](https://ideas.inductiveautomation.com/ignition-features-and-ideas/p/add-the-ability-to-release-resources-being-edited-by-absent-users)

Ghost Buster Steps:

1. master server - exported all objects with conflicting user
2. master server - turned off redundancy
3. redundant server - stopped the Ignition service
4. master server - restarted the Ignition service
5. redundant server - started the Ignition service
6. master server - turned on redundancy
7. master server - verified no code rolled back to the ghost user version

The ghost is now gone
