# Perspective VideoPlayer authentication

Running latest 8.1 want to stream HTTP Hikvision

url:  
[http://username:password@ipaddress/ISAPI/Streaming/channels/102/httpPreview](http://username:password@ipaddress/ISAPI/Streaming/channels/102/httpPreview)

notice the url does not end with .mpeg

however, vlc, chrome and other web browsers plays it fine

what shows in perspective (deisgner and web):

same issue occurs when getting snapshot from camera through URL

Nevermind, embadded credentials in URL are blocked which was the issue

edit: need to allow authentication (basic or digest) in VideoPlayer props in Perspective

Where did you find this option? and what version of Ignition?  
I'm trying to pass basic creds as well, but don't see any option:

That was more of a suggestion, it is not there in perspective.
