Is there a way in Workstation to open an external URL and it open in Firefox instead of inside workstation?

`system.perspective.navigate(url = 'http://docs.inductiveautomation.com')`

Tab/Window Links needs to be in “System Browser” mode.

Yeah I thought that was it - but doesn't seem to work for me. It still opens inside Workstation with no way back to the application. I am using 8.1.9

I think the link settings only work for true links (Link component), and do not get applied to system navigation calls. I would recommend setting up the navigation call as a link instead to make use of these settings.

This Open in new tab option for me works a bit different.
If checked, on PC and Smart devices web browser opens in new tab, in PC wokstation does not work at all, In Android Workstation it works

if unchecked, it works in same tab on PC and mobile browsers and it work in both Workstations PC and Android.

However, New tab option is more convenient for me, but it completely disables the functionality in PC workstation and no browser opening is noticed.

Is there any workaround for keeping it working with new tab enabled for any browser and keep working on Workstations too? (both PC and mobile ) ?

All on v8.1.45

Update:
My links are with the same IP as current gateway's IP and navigating only between projects with one string parameter
For example

> [http://1.2.3.4:8088/data/perspective/client/ProjectName/PageUrl/Parameter](http://1.2.3.4:8088/data/perspective/client/ProjectName/PageUrl/Parameter)

Ervin, did you do this? That solved my problem, which was the same as yours.

Thanks for the idea, I just tested it out, but still not working whatever Blocked, in window or system browser option I choose. However, I did find a workaround since:I added to the OnActionPerfomed event besides 1.Navigation to an URL, I added a second action : 2. Script with

```python
    system.perspective.navigate(
        url=self.view.custom.NavigationURL,
        newTab=(self.session.props.device.type == "browser")
    )
```

and it openes in the same window the workstation is already opened. as if just changed a page. This way it works on any platform. desktop browser, mobile browser, desktop workstation, mobile workstation does not matter.
