I downloaded the file from Ignition: perspectiveworkstation.tar.gz

Ran:

cd ~/Downloads

sudo tar -xzvf perspectiveworkstation.tar.gz --strip-components=1 -C /usr/share/applications

Set permissions:

sudo chmod -R 777 /usr/share/applications/app /usr/share/applications/runtime

But there's no .desktop file in /usr/share/applications and if I run: gtk-launch perspectiveworkstation, I get the message that application doesn't exist.

What am I doing wrong?

thanks

Expand it into the user's home directory. Run the install.sh.

The `/usr/share/applications` folder in Linux is expected to contain just `*.desktop` files, not actual applications.
