# Perspective XY Chart selection.data returns None instead of False after upgrade from 8.1.41 to 8.1.54

After upgrading from **8.1.41 to 8.1.54** , boolean `false` values inside an XY Chart's `props.selection.data` are read as `None` in a script. `true` values still work.

I have an XY Chart (used as a Gantt chart) inside a Flex Repeater. In the `props.selection.data` change script:

```python
system.perspective.print(self.props.selection.data[0])
event_type = self.props.selection.data[0].event_type
system.perspective.print('event type : {}'.format(event_type))

```

**Expected (worked in 8.1.41):** `event_type` and `event_ack` return `False`.

**Actual (8.1.54):** The Property Editor shows `event_type: false` and `event_ack: false`, but the script prints `None` for both. When the value is `true`, it prints `True` correctly.

Nothing changed except the gateway upgrade.

I consider this report as written extremely unlikely. The coercion logic in the property adapter -\> script step is pretty simple, and if it was broken by an upgrade a lot of people would have complained by now.

That said, if you want a full formal investigation, you need to contact the [Support department](https://support.inductiveautomation.com/hc/en-us) officially. Everyone on the forums is volunteering time, and of the few IA employees here regularly, none are Perspective experts. If you want a prompt, helpful answer, support is your best bet.
