# Pulling custom property from parent component

I'm using Vision to create a screen showing several pieces of data from different tags of the same UDT type. I grouped a bunch of labels together. I tried using Indirect Tags, but that is hardcoding the Group name into the tag. All this is doing is changing the place I have to change the reference on every label.

Direct tag:

Path: [tags\_Testcell]RTDs/TE1/Value/Alarms/Alarm\_High.IsActive

Indirect tag:

Path: [tags\_Testcell]RTDs/{1}/Value/Alarms/Warning\_High.IsActive

Ref: Root Container.Group RTD 1.ID

Instead of changing the TE value in the direct path, I have to change the Group RTD number in the indirect reference. I'd like the reference to point to the parent (which is the group), so I would change the ID value for each group and all the labels in that group would automatically look to the new tag.
