# Shut down computer from Ignition

I developed an application where I monitor the status of the computers and command to shut down the computers remotely from the application, I developed it using LabView. But now I want to do it with Ignition.

Ignition can call external programs to do this, like Linux' `poweroff` command. With suitable privileges, this can work for Vision clients and the gateway itself. It cannot work in Perspective.
