Would this work or does data get cached in connection for store & forward.

1. Have another MySql server up and going.
2. Duplicate databases and tables in it.
3. Stop ignition database connection, let store & forward store data.
4)Mirror 2 servers again.
4. Point database connection to new server and start up.
5. Let store & forward start pushing data in and get caught up.

Do any thing you may want to do to original database server, reset up and reverse process.

Will this work??? ![](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/inductiveautomation/original/1X/76d1620bec252bfac07050c889ff5a91dc8a9c25.gif "")

That should work. I don’t see any issues as long as you don’t rename the database connection. You shouldn’t have to do anything in the database either.

How did it go? I’m about to try something similar. Do you have any advice?
Thanks.

I know it has been 6 years, but did you go through with this? Any advice from your experience?

I need to do this in Ignition 8.1, and it looks like it should still work the same.

Hello,

These steps worked for me. Store and forward collected the data until the new MySQL server was online then the data was saved to the database.
