I am still using Ignition 7.9.9, but when I go to Help, it shows help for 8.0.
I am specifically looking for help on system.tag.read, but it does not even show up in the help.
Also system.tag.write.

There’s a link way down at the bottom to the 7.9 manual.

Here’s the docs on system.tag.read: [https://docs.inductiveautomation.com/display/DOC79/system.tag.read](https://docs.inductiveautomation.com/display/DOC79/system.tag.read)

Note the `DOC79` in the manual, rather than `DOC80` for the current manual. In 8.0 we switched the user manual links in the software to permanent links (so they’ll _always_ go to 8.0 manual pages) but 7.9 just uses a generic [docs.inductiveautomation.com](http://docs.inductiveautomation.com) link, which goes to the _current_ software version due to the way our manual works. I would recommend bookmarking the 7.9 manual if you’re using 7.9.
