I’m pulling data out of my MSSQL historian DB for use in reporting tools like Tableau, but I’m having problems with efficiently aggregating the data. For example, if I want to show a temperature trend over an entire year, my report will pull in massive amounts of data and inevitably crash; basically I have no way to bucket data…
What TimeScale DB provides looks appealing, but it doesn’t appear to be compatible with the Ignition Historian. Is there some pre-canned abstraction layer out there that can plug into the Ignition Historian tables?

We use the WebDev module with some custom web methods for outside systems to query large datasets from the Ignition historian.
