Hi everyone, I’m new to Ignition Perspective. I recently explored the **Time Series Chart** component, and I’d like to know if there’s any way to change the **X-axis** from a time-based format to something else — for example, **machine numbers** , **station numbers** , or any other non-time values.
Is this possible, or should I use a different chart component for that?

[Time Series Chart’s documentation](https://www.docs.inductiveautomation.com/docs/8.1/appendix/components/perspective-components/perspective-chart-palette/perspective-time-series-chart) states the following: “_Time series chart requires that the X axis of the chart represents time and the Y axis represents values._”

I hope this answers your question.

In other words, you need to use the XY chart for other X-axis data types.
