I would recommend the latest tutorial: [Articles](https://docs.sepasoft.com/articles/#!mes-module-tutorials/tt-practical-tutorial)

Some of the features and functions are now simplified when using Trace. Process Segments do not need to be defined any longer.

There are a core set of script functions you can use to record into the trace module: [Articles](https://docs.sepasoft.com/articles/#!user-manual/system-mes-trace)

If you are using Batch + Trace, the data ingestion method is simplified to using batch parameters: [Articles](https://docs.sepasoft.com/articles/#!user-manual/material-resource-tracking-and-traceability-batch-procedure)
