Hi everyone,

I am trying to connect an **Omron PLC** to **Ignition 8.1.44** using the **Omron FINS/TCP protocol** , but I am unable to establish communication.

The PLC is reachable on the network, but the FINS/TCP connection from Ignition is not connecting.

I have checked the following:

- PLC IP address
- Network connectivity / ping
- FINS/TCP configuration
- PLC network settings
- Ignition device configuration
- FINS node/network/address settings

However, the connection is still not successful.

Could someone please guide me on:

1. What are the **required FINS/TCP settings in the Omron PLC**?
2. What settings should be configured in **Ignition's Omron FINS/TCP driver**?
3. How can I verify whether the PLC is actually listening on the **FINS/TCP port (9600)**?
4. Are there any specific **FINS Network Number, Node Number, or Unit Number** settings that need to match between Ignition and the PLC?
5. Is there any recommended way to **troubleshoot FINS/TCP communication from Ignition**?

Being able to ping the device does not mean that the port is open. Make sure you have a firewall rule for port 9600.

Also, knowing what PLC model you're trying to connect to may help.

Here is a working config to a CJ1:
