# Unable to delete old scheduled backup file

Hello,

I have a scheduled backup running on a server and it cannot delete old files in the backup folder. The backup write works fine, but the error log is full of failure to delete the older files.

We are requesting that files be deleted past 5 retentions. We are sitting at around 290 backups.

Any ideas on where to look? I assumed it revolves around permissions to the folder but not sure since the backup is written fine.

Probably a permissions issue? Probably got permissions on the directory, so can make new files but locked out of modifying those files for some reason
