Trying to upgrade a customer Vision 7.9 Gateway installation to a new PC and having trouble figuring out which version of Java I need.

I installed what I think is a way too new version 17.0.7.0 of OpenJDK and the Ignition installer still barks at me and wants to direct me to Oracle website.

What's the best route to take here?

Thanks

The gateway _must_ be on Java 8 or 9. You'll have a hell of a time finding a Java 9 distribution that's still live, so Java 8. You don't _have_ to get your JDK from Oracle; there are other vendors that provide JDK builds.
