# Vision 8.05 Tab Strip Customizer Navigation Suddenly Stops Working

I’m using the Tab Strip Customizer as my main navigation bar on a docked window at the top of the screen. The navigation mode on all the screens are set to swap.

Sometimes (seemingly randomly) the navigation bar stops working on certain screens.

Say I have three screens: Home, Alarms. System.

All of a sudden if I’m on the System screen I can no longer navigate to the Home screen but I can navigate to Alarms and then to Home.

Reloading the client will fix this issue for a while but it keeps coming back across multiple projects.

Every case I've seen has been some `system.nav.openWindow()` call buried in the project that screws up the swapping. **Every** non-popup window, even ones not part of the tab strip, must be swapped in instead of opened to keep the tab strip synchronized.

Thanks for the response. I think I found the issue to be because I had "Open on Startup" selected for 2 Windows, after deselecting one the issue went away.
