We recently ran into seeing the issue with inside of 4 hours all of the data on trend shows as it should. But when we zoom out the data shows a flat line. Has anyone seen this issue before, see screenshots for reference. Not sure what would cause this.

This just looks to me to be an issue of resolution. When you zoom out to a 3 Day span then a change of approximately 20 units over a 10ish minute time range is miniscule to the remainder of the scale.

The chart needs to decide what data points to show, and if the points happen to be close enough together then it will be rendered as a straight line. I don't think this is really an Ignition thing, more likely it is a JFreeChart thing. Also don't really think it is a bug.

I would agree but this is the difference between 4 and 5 hours. its a different tag but every single tag in the system is doing this all of a sudden.

I have had a similar issue where our store and forward was backed up or timed out and it hadn't written to the database and was showing a ton of pending points, so the history trends did not populate for any tags from that specific tag browser for a few hours.

We did eventually fix the connectivity issue, the data was forwarded and the trends fixed themselves and were no longer flat lined after the information was passed into the historian database.

EDIT: Nvm, I just re-read the post and realized you were seeing the correct history when it was zoomed in. Sorry lol

What are the settings on the query? As stored? Or limited to X points? etc?

This has been in service for roughly 2 years with no issues. It seems odd this just randomly started happening.

Solved: Found the issue to be an underlying linux server update causing this problem. Ran the update and this resolved the trending issue.
