# Water/Wastewater Perspective Symbols

Regarding symbols and 8.3, this has me wondering what the future is for symbol factory and the symbols palette in Perspective. As mentioned on the [data center demo thread yesterday,](https://forum.inductiveautomation.com/t/data-center-demo-project-download/85227/11) I just use embedded views for symbols and diagram components. Is there a benefit to using the symbols palette instead of embedded views? They seem less capable, even if they could be a bit more performant.
