Now that ignition has an officially supported docker image in 8.1, I’m considering migrating our current 8.0 gateway server to a docker container. Is there any documentation available for this?
My plan would be to restore a backup on the new server and persist the /usr/local/bin/ignition/data directory. Anyone try this or have any suggestions?
Yeah there is!
You can checkout the (albeit somewhat limited for now) documentation on Docker Hub.
Its also worth noting that @kcollins has been publishing unofficial docker images for a while now with some additional features not-yet in the official images.
We do have plans to incorporate some of these features in a first class way in the future though
