I know this thread is old, but nested group membership is a highly requested feature so I wanted to give an update here.
First-class support for Active Directory nested group membership within Ignition will be available in the 8.3 release of Ignition! The 8.3 beta is tentatively scheduled to be available in Sept. of this year.
