AI Powered SCADA

A.I could be the last invention of mankind - Stephen Hawking.

The ultimate quest for innovation is to create a superhuman. We are almost there. Of course, A.I is very scary. We have 2 options. Either close our eyes until it takes over our jobs or join hands with it to eliminate jobs. Eliminating jobs would be the best job until 2030. After that, there won’t be any more jobs left to be eliminated.

Are we on the brink of a jobless future?

We need to be honest. We, automation people, are NOT holy cows. With PLCs and SCADA, we have eliminated millions of jobs in the past 20 years and doing more. This time AI will do for us, what we did for others.

Rise of the educated jobless hungry masses:

India has the worlds largest English speaking population. It has the world’s largest pool of English speaking graduates and certified jobless population (200+ million), less than 35 years of age. Almost every qualified Indian has been brainwashed to dream USA as his/her promised land. The favourite gossip among techies and IT workers in Bangalore these days goes like this:

“Trump can NOT rollback H1B visa program and send back home 7.5 million Indians. If he does that, we will abandon Google, Microsoft, Facebook and Twitter and join hands with China. We can switch over to Linux and Baidu overnight. We can easily rewrite all the Microsoft apps for Linux because we wrote most of the code for Microsoft. Trump has realized that if he messes around with Indians, he will loose his job and America will go bankrupt. Henceforth, he will NEVER EVER open his mouth on H1B visa rollback”.

If Singularity can deliver free food, cloth and shelter, the educated jobless hungry masses of India will appoint Singuarity as the next Sultan of the Indian subcontinent which will pave the way for one world, one governance.

No doubt, AI has brought some hope for the hopeless.

Still waiting for the 10 hr work week to be brought on by all your super computers…you’re living a dream mate. Who’s to say Watson’s solution isn’t human extermination?

SCADAaaS - SCADA as a Service:

Many decision makers are wondering, if they need expensive on site SCADA systems with more expensive SCADA teams who don't have much to do most of the time around the year, once the system is up and running?. If we look bit deeper into the plant automation systems, hardly 10% of the systems can be classified as mission critical which may need 24x7 on site SCADA manpower and the rest is NOT so critical. This is especially true for infrastructure automation services where they have so many waste, water and sewer treatment plants apart from many other plants spread geographically across the city with so many unmanageable SCADA systems and jobless specialists sitting around.

Ignition's capability far exceeds it's closest rivals like WW Archestra, WinCC, FactoryTalk View etc. No doubt, Ignition is the most powerful SCADA in the world today. Most of the SCADA projects have 80% identical functionalities with around 5% to 20% variation. Very soon, IA will have very powerful tools which can automatically build most of the projects within few hours and deploy it on any server, anywhere across the globe for half of the price of the "Total Cost of Ownership". IA will take full responsibility of maintenance, updates, high availability and guaranteed performance via VPN for a reasonable price. This will be very attractive for SI contractors who need NOT spend a lot to train and retain their manpower who can NOT deliver like the manufacturer any way. What else you need, when IA comes on board?.

With features like scalability, rock solid stability and unlimited web client accessibility, Ignition is highly cost effective for very large cloud based infrastructure projects. For SCADA as a Service business, Ignition is the best choice.
