I think I was not clear on expressing my idea. I am thinking of building a custom module which will extend the Ignition OPC UA Data only server and add Acknowledgement feature to it. So, this custom module can be reused by anyone who needs some feature like this.
It's not possible.
This seems to be the best option. However, you use TCP socket instead of WebDev to send acknowledge commands to the server to save cost.
