Are comments in Named Queries known to not work correctly?

Upgraded from 8.1.17 to 8.1.26, now Named Query issue - cannot set parameter at position 1 (values was -1)

Was trying to upgrade my gateway from 8.1.17 to 8.1.26 but it caused many of my SELECT Named Queries to break with the above error.
