I completely agree with this sentiment of not relying on a rando company and why I'm asking for a solution in the Ignition Platform. Where this comes from is we're in process of installing a private LTE network at a site to address connectivity concerns for our operators on the floor (70 acres) and manage realtime execution of work with the manual processes. With what these folks are asked to do it would be nice to have that push notification when a relevant task for that operator is approaching, coming due and past due as they are traveling between jobs and may not have their device or the ignition app open. In addition, relying on the having the signal sent from the local gateway out to the cloud and then back to do a push notification to the operator's mobile device when we plan on locking down these devices connection to the WAN adds to the challenge.
+1 to this thread, maybe just allowing a third party service like firebase could do the trick
