If there is a true Modbus TCP gateway in front of the Modbus RTU chain, then none of this topic applies. Is your Modbus RTU master just a ethernet-to-serial or ethernet-to-rs485 adapter? If so, and only if so, then Modbus RTU over TCP is the right driver, and this topic applies.
