Modbus Tags "Bad_NotConnected" When polling more than one device

No, the Moxa NPort family of ethernet to serial. Some models are RS-485 direct, perfect for Modbus RTU. (See my modbus driver's user manual for Moxa config recommendations.)

Hate to link externally or have this interpreted as some kind of endorsement from me, because I haven't actually used it, but I think our support department has...

https://www.com-port-monitoring.com/ might be worth a look.

Ahh, so the NPorts present themselves as COM ports on the PC/server whereas the MB31x0 just does the Modbus RTU to TCP conversion on the device. MB31x0 models cost more per port than the NPort, but it's really up to the user how they want to handle it at that point. But I definitely second the Moxa diagnostics for troubleshooting the connections.

I don't do that. I recommend the TCP server mode instead, which is compatible with RTU over TCP driver settings. (And works trivially in Linux.)
