Just to clarify for the end user, this could be done by right clicking on the embedded view in the split container, and doing a "Wrap in container" > "Flex Row". Then giving that flex container a basis = <whatever size>, shrink = 0, and grow = 1. You don't necessarily need to re-build your view in a flex container.
