Question about the redundancy setup

Well, yes, we definitely need to do something to add some layer of compatibility. The experience will almost certainly be a bit different than with normal clients, due to the fact that with the mobile module, your “client” is actually on the server. If the server dies, you lose your state. The first thing we hope to do is make the web interface a bit smarter and know to redirect to the backup machine if the first is unavailable. You would need to log in again, but at least you would be able to get back in.

As it stands, you can basically do this manually by adding bookmarks to both gateways into your phone. Of course, there is even more you can do if you’re going through a router that can be smart and direct the traffic to the server that’s up. That way, to the phone it’s one address- you’ll just get kicked out and have to log back in when the master goes down.

All said and done, though, it’s safe to say that we’ll be doing something to make it better soon.

Regards,

thanks for the response. Appreciate the hard work you guys do. The inductive automation approach to support is light years ahead of the competition and quite refreshing. :thumb_right:

Were there ever any scripting functions added to switch between redundant Gateways based on a condition?

No there was/is not
