For anyone wanting to use ping with a Perspective application there are several utilities on the Ignition Exchange. Here's one.
Hey Transistor, I've actually dug into a few of these utilities, but the issue isn't with them, it is with my gateway not being able to properly ping using the methods they use. Anytime I try to ping a device from the gateway, they always fail, even though the same pings from the CLI work just fine.
Are you sure your gateway is being started with SystemD (not gwcmd) ? The privileges won't be applied if it is started with anything other than systemctl.
To my knowledge it is starting with SystemD. Unless I am misunderstanding the SystemD status.
Here's the resource I posted to the exchange that will give you round-trip time also, but does require you to install fping on the gateway.
