Unfortunately that’s how it usually happens. I just experienced my IT department starting extremely aggressive daily vulnerability scan on literally everything, causing hardware to restart, and restart badly. As usual no warning what so ever.

Ok, I have encountered IT people with courteous behavior, but I definitely would not call it common.
