Way to hide "Executing Task" popup for system.util.sendRequest?

Given this

Not showing popup Executing task with system.util.sendRequest

When I use system.util.sendRequest, I don’t want to show the popup Executing task in order to prevent the user to cancel the task. Is it possible ?

Was never answered, I assume that it probably cannot be done and I must use sendMessage to the gateway and send message back to the appropriate client.
