I've just upgraded my test system to 8.3.7 and so far it looks OK.
However ... when I open the GW website and click on the "Launch Designer" button at the top right of the screen:
If I am doing this from Microsoft Edge (v149.0), it opens a tab that has the address of:
designer://192.xxx.y.zz:8088?insecure=true
And nothing happens. (and 192.xxx.y.zz is the IP address of my GW)
If I do the same thing in Safari (v26.5) I get this dialog box:
You'll have to install the Designer Launcher on your machine for the custom URL protocol, known as a 'deep link', to work.
I'm just randomly clicking things in the new version to what happens, but I get the requirement.
Downloading the designer launcher was my next step, but I don't think that this button is handled in the best manner, but I don't know if you can test for the protocol ahead of time.
I just downloaded the designer launcher on windows and I had to jump through hoops to convince windows that it's a safe file. It is safe isn't it?????? lol

We cannot, basically. It's a pain point that's pretty much unavoidable, but you only have to do it once per computer - one designer launcher can talk to any number of gateways, and the deep links are really nice there.
Yes, it is. Microsoft probably just doesn't like it because there isn't enough reported usage for them to mark it "safe", but the installer itself is code signed and has gone through all the rigamarole MS (and Apple, on MacOS) expect.
