8.3 Comm errors on sim devices after install

Good afternoon,

I thought that this issue was related to the one posted by Gareth Lovell about a communication error, but reading more closely I’m thinking it might be different. After downloading 8.3 I had no issues with any of my simulated devices, and now as of this week I have noticed that I can not connect to any of the simulated devices, even new ones that I have just created. The error I am getting is “CreateMonitoredItems failed: Bad_InvalidState: The operation cannot be completed because the object is closed, uninitialized or in some other invalid state.” It is on all of the tags in every simulated device that I have in any of my projects. Not sure if its similar to the error that Gareth is experiencing or not, but I figured I would post about it. As a side note I only have simulated devices in our system so obviously it isn’t impacting anything in production.

Which beta version of 8.3 are you using?

This may be the same as an issue that was already fixed and should be part of 8.3.0-beta4.
