Recently installed 8.3.1 Edge to see if it would sync tag history to a central 8.1.45 Gateway. I have enabled serialization, I can see the real-time tags, but it is not forwarding any history up to the central gateway. Note that using 8.1 Edge works just fine. I have configured the 8.3 edge to exactly the same options that an 8.1 edge would normally need. We rename the historian to “default” instead of “edge historian” so as to be compatible with other non-edge installations. I have enabled java serialization in two areas…one on the gateway network connection and another for the script message encoding. Am I missing something or is it just not possible? Is Edge using the new QuestDB and therefore not compatible or can it still use the SQLite DB for temporary storage? For what it is worth, I can’t get alarm journal nor audit information to be forwarded either.
