Access/edit Ignition Edge via Gateway

Folks,

I'm working with a set of Ignition Edge sync devices each on their own LAN. They connect up to a central Ignition Gateway (to act as realtime and tag history providers) which has two NICs and straddles the LAN and a different network to which I have remote access. Is there a way of accessing the "remote" Edges via the main gateway? To edit the tags primarily, and other tasks which I would usually accomplish on Designer if connected to the LAN.

Or is this only doable with some creative network routing?

Thank you!

You should be able to configure service security to facilitate editing of tags (via ReadWriteEdit setting) on a remote tag provider (via Gateway Network). This would require adding those Edge gateway tag providers as remote tag providers in your central gateway, which depending on your counts might not be what you're looking for.

Thank you, that was helpful! That should help us with things after the initial setup (OPC connections, network, and the like).

I'm guessing however changes on the gateway itself would require direct/NAT-ed/routed access, right?

Yes, for accessing things via the Gateway Webpage, you'll have to find your own way..
