Ack Notes Required & Remote Acknowledgement

Using 7.7.0 - If a tag’s alarm is set to require acknowledgement notes, it is possible to acknowledge the alarm from one of the notification profiles without an acknowledgement note. That in itself is understandable since there are no provisions in the alarm notification profiles for adding an acknowledgement note.

The problem is that if an alarm is required to have acknowledgement notes, the alarm is acknowledged through one of the notification profiles and the alarm clears it is removed from the Alarm Status Table even though the alarm has no acknowledgement notes.

An alarm that requires acknowledgement notes should not be removed from the Alarm Status Table until it has and acknowledgement note.

Hi Pat,

When you say ’ acknowledge the alarm from one of the notification profiles’, what do you mean? Are you talking about the Pipeline/Notification Test Page or do you mean that you built in a way to acknowledge an alarm via email, text, or phone without adding notes? It is worth noting that nothing ‘disappears’ from the alarm status table. You probably have it set to filter Clear and Acked alarms (the default). If you want to see the alarms, simply edit the filters in the Property Editor for the alarm status table, and that way you can add notes after the fact.
