Please someone can help me with this setup.
I did follow the procedure in this link:
I did the setup connecting the RV50x on my ethernet port in my PC, but when I connected to the router I couldn't access it anymore.
The problem is how can I connect the RV50x to my network gateway to use in ignition. I didn't find a place to set my Gateway Ip Address.
Thanks
Well. Is the interface the RV50x is plugged into on the router the same as your gateway?
If not, you will need a policy to route the traffic back to the gateway. I'm also not sure you can specify a control gateway that is in a different subnet than the IP address of the RV50x.
Thank you for your answer.
I'm sorry, I think I didn't explain right.
What I need is to connect the RV50x to my network the same as another PC device.
I set up the new IP Address, and the Mask, using my pc, but when I plug the RV50x into my gateway, I can't connect anymore.
Do I need to change anything?
Example:
IP 10.17…224.66
Subnet 255.255.255.192
Gateway: Where does it go? (it should be 10.17.224.65)
DHCP Mode disabled.
For that subnet mask here are the usable IP addreses
10.17.224.65 - 10.17.224.126
So make sure your subnet mask on both the gateway and the RV50x are the same. General rule of thumb. If you can't ping the RV50x you won't be able to connect to it on other ports.
I decided to start over the setup.
Where I can find the Ignition template for this device?
Do I need to upload the template?
I found 1 template at:
and I saved this one:
https://files.inductiveautomation.com/extras/IA_LS300Template_07092013.xml
But when I upload the template it is failing.
I would just follow the guide and not worry about using a template.
I have not had a problem getting this to work after setting up the environment according to the guide. Not that is with the caveat that I have not dealt with trying to pass this traffic through a router. There may be firewalls blocking the traffic.
When you connect to your network is the DHCP dishing-out a new IP to the MODEM?
@brandon1 We did the same setup as a normal PC in our network, except for opening the specific ports
@eddie_johnson Nope, we did set a static IP Address
When is connected directly to the PC works in that PC, but when we move to the network, I can't ping anymore.
This is the setup I have right now. (Edit the picture it was wrong)
255.255.255.132 is not a valid subnet mask.
If you're really needing 255.255.255.192 like in your second screenshot, your usable IPs are 10.17.212.65 - 10.17.212.126 which every device on that network will need to be in that range to be able to ping the gateway, and they should all use the device IP (10.17.212.66) as their gateway to be able to access the WAN through it.
What IPs are you trying to use to communicate with the radio? The more info you share the easier it will be for others to help you.
Edit: If your'e not using it as a wireless gateway also, you don't need to set up the gateway on your other devices to use this device, and keep their gateway as-is.
I'm sorry I did the wrong picture it is 255.255.255.192, sorry for my mistake.
I did change the picture.
Per the guide you linked, did you set the host port routing to disabled like in the following screenshot from the guide?
Yes, it is disabled, the only change is the mask.
I was wondering if it might be something simple like did you reboot the MODEM after configuration, while still connected to the PC.
Yes, I did several times.
