Airlink RV50 Modem

As I understand RV50 Airlink modem cannot be setup in a redundant configuration.
Is there any way to achieve this?

I can think of reading the statuses of the modem over SNMP and enable/disbale modems through the hardware input.

Has anybody done anything like this before?

I have done it on Teltonika modems, but not Sierra. Also the Teltonika units have dual sim.
